More dancing

Posted by 2toad

So, since I have no life I went on youtube looking for clips of “So You Think You Can Dance” (its my guilty pleasure).  These are some of my favorites, enjoy.

From the current season, my favorite so far is a Mia Michaels routine about addiction:

The next is a routine choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon to the song Bleeding Love:

Finally a contemporary routine by Mia Michaels from last season:

I love this show and there is always a moment every season that I am just in awe of the talent. Once again, “Dancing with the Stars” can suck it!

So, you think you can dance?

Last week was the official start of this years season of “So You Think You Can Dance”. The first episode was amazing. Some of the dancers are truly gifted but as with every season it really is a showcase of the choreography. This week was surprising because it was the first week and there were two really stand out performances. The first was my personal favorite. Jason and Caitlin danced a BollyWood number to the song Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire. Take a look:

Now most would say that the salsa dance at the end was the next best. Maybe it was, maybe I’m just a softy for Richard Marx songs and contemporary dance but I just kept replaying the routine by Ade and Melissa. Here it is:

Finally while I was shuffling through youtube I stumbled across one of my favorite performances of all time. Bryan Gaynor from Kennesaw GA. If you ever read this I just want you to know that I think you are an amazing talent. Here he is auditioning:

Yep, I think this year they should officially rename the show to: “Dancing with the Stars can SUCK IT!” On second thought Disney would probably take them to court and it would be a big mess. I will certainly be watching this season.
