Starstrukk

I’ve been listening to this song for months now. The band is 3OH!3 with Katy Perry doing some vocals. These guys are hilarious and Katy Perry is pretty much the hottest woman on the planet so enjoy!

Art in sand

Posted by 2toad

This video is of Kseniya Simonova depicting the invasion of the Ukraine by the Germans in World War 2. She does this to music in real-time with only sand and light. Its amazing.

I love this song and one day I would really like to see TSO live. Until then I’ll just watch this guys great home lighting set up. Merry Christmahanakwanzika everyone!

Mashing Beatles

Posted by 2toad

I love mash up music. Taking two great songs and mashing them together, what could be better than that? Okay, maybe a puppy/kitten combo but that’s it. Here are two of my favorites so far. First is the Beatles “Come Together” mixed with Nine Inch Nails “Closer”. It’s odd how well they work together considering how different they are.

The next is the best. Its a combination of the Beatles “Eleanor Rigby” and Green Day’s “Brain Stew”.

Best Rick Roll Ever

Posted by 2toad

Yes, Rick Rolling is very 2007 but I just had to share this one. It makes me really like the song again. Oh Nine Inch Nails, is there nothing you can’t do?

Corey Taylor does Tom Petty

Posted by 2toad

Since I have a mind numbing, soul sucking, low paying job that even a chimp can do I find myself filling my mornings listening to Lex and Terry (the givers!). Last week they had Corey Taylor on for a performance and interview. In case you weren’t aware Corey Taylor is lead vocals for the bands SlipKnot and Stone Sour. His rendention of the Stone Sour hit “Through Glass” was very good but the second performance he chose to cover Tom Petty’s “You Got Lucky” and it sounded AMAZING!

I’ve always been a sucker for “unplugged” performances but I really think these deserve to be seen again and again. I can only hope he decides to put this cover on his next album.

The Dead Weather

Posted by 2toad

I just recently tweeted about The Dead Weather but the more I listen the more I realize they deserve their own post. Anyone who likes a blues throwback sound should definitely check them out. So far my favorite song is “Will There Be Enough Water”. It seems like they are reaching back the the underground blues of the 50’s and pulling it right into the present.

Sadly though I don’t think they will last. The Dead Weather is another “super group” composed of different talents from other bands. Most notably Alison Mosshart of The Kills and Jack White of The White Stripes and The Raconteurs. Most super groups tend to break apart because each member already has one or two successful bands. Also the ego of so many super stars thrown together tends to create a volatile situation. Remember Velvet Revolver anyone? Great hard sound but just too much ego. Anyway, here is the video of The Dead Weather’s live performance of Will There Be Enough Water. Enjoy.
