I just recently tweeted about The Dead Weather but the more I listen the more I realize they deserve their own post. Anyone who likes a blues throwback sound should definitely check them out. So far my favorite song is “Will There Be Enough Water”. It seems like they are reaching back the the underground blues of the 50’s and pulling it right into the present.

Sadly though I don’t think they will last. The Dead Weather is another “super group” composed of different talents from other bands. Most notably Alison Mosshart of The Kills and Jack White of The White Stripes and The Raconteurs. Most super groups tend to break apart because each member already has one or two successful bands. Also the ego of so many super stars thrown together tends to create a volatile situation. Remember Velvet Revolver anyone? Great hard sound but just too much ego.
